LET ME SEE THEM HANDS!!!

29 11 2010

This past summer Joe, Nick & Luke flanked future roots reggae icons John Brown’s Body during their appearance at the 20th Annual Grassroots Festival of Music & Dance. The Moving Box team was on hand to capture an amazing performance from the locally founded octet.

Their set contained many musical and visual high points. While reviewing the footage of their performance, Luke chose to showcase their performance of “The Gold (Dubmatix Version)“. During the editing process, Luke felt the song deeply resonated with him. The crowd response was absolutely electric and the visual evolution of the light and camera angles created a flow that was sensually stimulating from beginning to end.

While editing the performance, Luke worked with local music legends Phil Abbott and Dan Timmons at Pyramid Sound Studios. They contributed a mixed and mastered recording made the music and sound of the event come alive.

So load up the 720p HD footage, get comfy, strap on your ear goggles and be transported to a lovely summer night, a beautiful crowd, and a unique band!

Moving Box Work Featured on Ithaca Post

23 08 2010

Luke made his second video contribution to The Ithaca Post with a piece about Elisa Sciscioli, frontwoman for the local Ithaca band Solstice. You can find his piece on the Ithaca Post’s website by clicking here. It’s fascinating to hear her talk about her inner life of meditation and how it has helped her find her own voice and the strength to make the move to center stage after her career as a backup singer. For those not familiar with The Ithaca Post, it is a terrific source for music, art, and culture in Upstate New York and features a host of high-quality contributors. Be sure to check them out over at TheIthacaPost.com.

Last Call: All Male A Capella Group

16 08 2010

Last Call, Cornell University’s all male a capella group, came to Moving Box Studios looking for a professional quality video to put out on DVD. This year was Last Call’s alumni reunion year and they wanted to make sure it was captured in the best possible way. Moving Box answered the call. Jeff, Luke, Nick, and Joe recorded and edited a three camera shoot of their reunion concert .The production consisted of several original songs and covers from various bands and singers known to all. They did an amazing job and was a pleasure to document such a talented group.
